Keep your Apple devices linked

Although many Mac users rely on iCloud to keep their files and documents in Sync, DeskConnect offers a slightly different service. DeskConnect is a simple way to instantly send documents and files to other Apple devices instantly using a WiFi or DeskConnect. There's no waiting around for any syncing to be done.

Instant sharing rather than syncing

For example, if you're reading an article on your Mac and want to read it on your iPhone, you can send it instantly with a click from your Menu Bar. The same goes for anything else you can use in a browser such as map directions, watching videos and even starting a phone call. Other things you can share include clipboard contents, audio and images. Everything can be accessed via your Menu Bar - just click on the DeskConnect icon and you can select the function you want to use from the drop-down menu.

Unlimited data transfers

DeskConnect has no data usage limits and doesn't rely on either Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connections. DeskConnect isn't limited by distance either - it works anywhere you have an internet connection. However, DeskConnect can only transfer to Macs, iPhones, iPads, and iPod touch devices that also have DeskConnect installed.

Useful but only for sharing on the same network

If you don't like using Cloud services then DeskConnect is a simple and effective way to share files between Apple devices.

PROS

  • Easy to access via Menu Bar
  • No setup procedure
  • Great for those on same WiFi or network

CONS

  • Requires DeskConnect installed on all devices
